A few weeks ago I received this beautiful gadget and excitedly opened it. Let me share my findings with you!
The Perfect Portions Scale is a special food scale that helps you to accurately keep track of your nutritional & calorie intake. It’s a food scale + nutrition facts. Here’s how it works:
Find your food’s number in the index.
Enter the food code and place the item on the scale.
And there you have a complete nutritional analysis: calories, carbs, fiber, etc. How cool is that?
You can also see the % Daily Value.
Let’s try something a bit more complicated: Bread with butter. Enter the food code & weigh the item.
Hit save.
Press the zero button, spread your bread with butter, enter the food code for butter, weigh again and hit save.
Now, hit the total button.
And there you have it: an analysis of both your bread & butter. In this way you can calculate your entire meal.
You can also easily enter up to 99 custom foods.
Final analysis:
Pros:
Sleek, elegant design.
Simple, easy navigation.
Ability to enter custom foods.
Ability to calculate an entire meal.
Helps to keep track of your actual calorie & nutritional intake.
Cons:
The only thing I dislike about this scale is that you must look up each food item in the food code book. However, it is very easy to locate and enter the code, so it really isn’t a problem.
The generous people at Perfect Portions have agreed to give one (1) of my lucky readers one of their super-cool scales.
Here’s how you can enter to win:

I think my food weakness is licorice or gummy candy! If it’s in my house, I will eat the whole bag!
My food weakness is salt. Anything salty is fair game. Some healthier than others. Pistachios, potato chips, popcorn & potatoes are the usual.
My food weakness is the salty sweet combo. If i eat something sweet, I have to have something salty too. It’s a vicious cycle!
My weakness?
Anything Italian and pile on the pasta!
(But no organ meats. Nope. No how.)
Like your blog site!
My food weakness are these things called Hob-Nobs. My husband and I discovered them while on vacation in Ireland. Now, the real problem is, we’ve found them again over here in the states. It was one thing when they were overseas, but now they are available all the time!
Those delicious, oatmeal, chocolately bits of goodness get me every time!
sweets. definitely sweets. dark chocolate, nutella, brownies, pumpkin crisp…you name a dessert and it’s my weakness.
My biggest weakness is peanut butter…..right out of the jar. I’m not exactly proud of that!
my biggest weakness is almost anything sweet, i try to put stuff in the freezer and forget about it but that’s hard too!
How cool! I hoped over from Natasha’s blog and landed here in time to enter the giveaway. Even better I’m going to cross my fingers and hold off ordering my new kitchen scale. 🙂
My weakness is anything that’s just come out from the oven. I have no patience. Of course after my first initial WARM piece I now have to try it again at room temp. 🙂
Thanks for the chance to win!

I would say my food weakness is…anything mexican, no wait….pasta….maybe desserts? FOOD is my weakness!! 🙂
I also “liked” you on facebook 🙂 Thank you!
Chips and salsa! I could sit down and eat the whole bag, especially if I add a twist of lime first. 🙂
My weekness – homemade baking. Chocolate Fudge Cake (Grandma’s recipe) would have to be one thing I cannot say no to … and chocolate caramel square …. and raspberry slice (my Mum’s recipe!) … and lolly slice … mmm 🙂
Love the gadget! How cool.
Love all of your from scratch recipes.
Ice cream is my food weakness. I would eat it every night if I kept it in my freezer all the time.
Bread, really good French Bread! I could eat the whole loaf in one setting!
My weakness is homemade bread and butter. I can not get enough of it. It is so yummy when it is still warm. Total weakness!!
I’d have to say peanut butter. I like creamy peanut butter on a spoon…that’s pretty easy to have “just one more” of 🙂
Pizza for sure!
I have so many food weaknesses!!! I guess ice cream is my #1 weakness – I love it and would eat it everyday if I didn’t have to watch my cholesterol, calories, etc.
does sugar count as a food weakness? if it’s sweet, chances are good that i’ll inhale it. 🙂
My food weakness is something, anything late at night.
Ice Cream, safer to have little single serving cups if any at all in the freezer!
ANY good tasting food is my weakness, but I would have to say I’m more prone to overeating when it comes to cookies, especially warm from the oven.
I also ‘liked’ your facebook page.
Pizza. For sure pizza… and chips..
baked mac n cheese…..i die…..
Bread hot out of the oven, anything from a yeast bread to a biscuit. With butter.
My food weakness is Macaroni & Cheese. If it is on a menu, I order it. But homemade is usually the best.
I try very hard to eat clean and healthy. If I can’t make it we usually don’t eat it. Therefore my weekness is all that I deny myself. Packaged candy, chips, hot dogs…
Every so often I do allow myself to have some but truth be told I do go a little overboard on these occasions. Boy, is it ever tasty but never makes me feel as completely satisfied as homemade.
My food weakness is definitely ice cream – my favorite is the lemon haagen-dasz five, delicious!!!
This is a great giveaway for a diabetic!
My weakness is ALL sweets but I’m getting better about it. I won’t go for an oreo or animal cookie- I want fresh warm brownies from the oven, or home-baked oatmeal raisin cookies. It’s all about the trade-offs though. Skip the bread with dinner and allow myself the treat afterwards…and don’t waste the calories on sweets that aren’t worth it.
Posted to my facebook for you. Great blog by the way- I just started following. I’m going to try the whole wheat bread tonight
my food weakness would def. be dessert!
Crawfish.
My weakness is bread. White bread, wheat bread, sweet bread, cheesy bread… you get the idea. I could NEVER go low-carb.
My food weakness is best described as “anything with carbohydrates”!
When I really want to indulge I like something that involves nuts and caramel. My absolute favorite is a shortbread cookie base with nuts and a caramel topping!
